METS 8, REDS 3

Happy Mother's Day! The Mets rewarded all of the moms at Shea with a pink hat, and all moms everywhere with a big win. Perez was great through five but fell apart in the sixth. The guy can't seem to go deep into games anymore. But the bullpen (Schoeneweis/Smith/Feliciano) was able to hold it down. The bigger story was that the Mets bats were alive today. For the second day in a row they had back-to-back homeruns. Today it was Beltran and Church. The bats rocked the Reds' prime rookie, Johnny Cueto, who didn't look like the heralded prospect he's supposed to be. But the oddest part of the game came in the ninth inning when the Reds batted out of order. It took about ten minutes for the umpires to sort it all out. Dusty Baker double switched one too many times and noone knew what the correct batting order was! Silly Dusty.

WP: Oliver Perez (3-3)
LP: Johnny Cueto (2-3)
