METS 5, DIAMONDBACKS 2

Maybe the "Fire Willie" calls will diminish after this weekend. The Mets went into Arizona where the Diamondbacks had the best record in the NL, and we were able to win the weekend series two out of three. It was indeed a pitchers duel today between Santana and Haren but neither factored into the decision. While the Mets jumped out to a 2-0 lead and while Johan left the game with a 2-1 lead, the D-Backs tied it up in the 7th against Joe Smith. But tied at 2, the Mets broke the game open in the top of the 9th scoring three against Chad Qualls. Jorge Sosa was the winning pitcher of record and his 4-1 won/loss record is funny when compared to his awful 6.38 ERA. Sosa's four wins in relief actually leads the team! Now we go to L.A. to take on the Dodgers!

WP: Jorge Sosa (4-1)
LP: Chad Qualls (0-2)
S: Billy Wagner (7)
