METS 3, NATIONALS 2 (14 innings)

It's not often that they play the 7th inning stretch twice in one game. This was a long one. 14 innings. 4 hours and 45 minutes. It was a really good pitching matchup between two unhearlded starters. Nelson Figueroa - otherwise known as Figgy - was excellent for his second start in a row. On the other hand, Washington's John Lannan struck out 11 batters in six innings! The Nats took a 2-1 lead into the 8th inning but Delgado got a clutch RBI hit, tying the game up. After five scoreless innings from both teams, the Mets finally won when Damion Easley scored... on a wild pitch. Hey, whatever works! And yet, this was still not the longest game of the night. The Colorado Rockies beat the San Diego Padres 2-1... in 22 innings... which took 6 hours and 16 minutes to play. Wow.
