METS 13, MARLINS 0

The MRI results for Pedro confirmed that it was a sprained hamstring and that he will miss 4-6 weeks. Sad but I suppose it could have been worse. Hopefully his absence will not be more than that and hopefully he will continue to travel with the team as his personality does wonders for clubhouse chemistry. It certainly seemed that the loss of Pedro caused the rest of the Mets to step up their game tonight. 13-0 - wow! Oliver Perez can be either really really good or really really bad but tonight it was the former. Six shutout innings with eight strikeouts. And everyone took turns whacking the Marlin pitchers. Church went yard, Wright went yard and Beltran WOULD have went yard if the umpires didn't reverse their original call. Had the Mets not had such a large lead, Willie should have argued it more vigorously. But I suppose it's hard to complain in the midst of such a blowout. Record now stands at 2-1. On to Atlanta!

WP: Oliver Perez (1-0)
LP: Andrew Miller (0-1)
