METS 7, MARLINS 2

2008. A new year, a new blog! And today was not a shabby way to start the year as excellent hitting and pitching contributed to yet another Opening Day victory for the Mets. (The Mets have the best Opening Day record of any team in the majors) After the stench of the September 2007 collapse, the Mets needed to do something huge in the offseason. Trading for and then signing Johan Santana was huge enough and today he delivered. While it's still unclear what the year has in store, today was a sweet beginning. And even though the game was played in Miami, I could have sworn it was New York, based on all the Mets fans in attendance!
